The California Indian Heritage Center Foundation (CIHCF) was created, in part, in 2009 to serve Californa's Native community via support of projects, special events, outreach, and educational programs at the State Indian Museum in Sacramento. Land Acknowledgement
Our office is located on the Tribal lands of the Nisenan Maidu people. We also acknowledge their neighbors: the Plains & Valley Miwok and Me-wuk peoples to the south, the Southern Maidu people to the north, and the Patwin Wintun peoples to the west, on whose land (now West Sacramento) the California Indian Heritage Center will be built.
